The semi-detached house is a new construction project located opposite the park “The Red Gate” in Bruges.

Designing a home requires attention to functional organization, spatiality, volume, finishing, integration of the environment, orientation and location.

In addition, as a designer you must continuosly take construction, structure, techniques and sustainability aspects into account.

Process your design into constructive drawings consisting of four sections, three elevations and three floorplans on a fictitious construction site.

The house will be constructed with a traditional solid construction consisting of cavity walls and concrete vaults. The drawings are intended to be readable for the executing conctractor.

Integration “Bouwcomfort”:

The student prepares a ventilation plan, including a ventilation table.

“BIM” Visualization:

Create a BIM model of a simple architectural project in a real urban planning context with Archicad.

“VIS” Visualizations:

Students learn deepening of graphic techniques such as advanced perspective methods, shading techniques and initiation in colour theory.

In addition, students learn the basics of digital graphic techniques with Photoshop.

Present a simple architectural project with simple graphic techniques using perspective methods and Photoshop. The assignment results in a graphic presentation poster of the architectural project.
